MI KC 62nd Ultrasound

 62nd ultrasound 2  Wednesday June 24, 2020 marked the dedication for the 62nd Ultrasound Machine in Michigan which took place at Options Resource Clinic in West Branch. Fr. Ronald DeHondt from St. Margaret of Scotland parish in St Clair Shores provided the opening prayer and blessed the Ultrasound machine.

In attendance, District Deputy Martin Babich led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, Council # 3797 FS Jim Wietecha, Advocate Pete Wilhelm, Council Life Director Jeff Wummel, Dan DeLeeuw Executive Director, Board President Marie Kler, Vice President Carolyn Durst, Nurse Manager Michelle Decker, Clinic Manager Vicki Wangler, Pastor Steve Decker from Gladwin Free Methodist Church, local newspaper, staff, and Grand Knight Rick Liebler from neighboring Council #2022. Others in attendance MI K of C Pro Life Chair Couple Tim & Cindy Donovan.

Sponsoring Council: Fr. Solanus Casey Council #3797 along with help from neighboring Councils  #2022, #3725, 8695, #2733 and Livingston County Ultrasound Initiative.

Executive Director Dan DeLeeuw communicated the importance of this Ultrasound Machine while thanking the Knights of Columbus for their generosity and commitment to Protecting the Unborn. Not present with us today due to a family emergency GK # 3797 Paul Desjardins, who demonstrated his passion for Life throughout the entire process. Cindy Donovan spoke on behalf of Livingston County Ultrasound Initiative informing all those present of the significance that LCUI provides for K of C Councils when fundraising. Tim Donovan thanked everyone for their ongoing Passion for Life and encouraged the Council to stay in close contact with the Pregnancy center. Pastor Steve Decker concluded the ceremony by providing us with an inspirational closing prayer.

Many thanks to all who participated and donated that may not be mentioned, please know that without all of you none of this would be possible.

And last but far from least, let us not forget Supreme Council Knights of Columbus for their matching funds program which has surpassed its original goal of 1,000 Life Saving Ultrasound Machines, now at 1255 Order wide.
